Global Development Trends in the Door and Window Industry

27 Jan, 2024

Doors and windows are important components of building envelope systems. Doors and windows refer to doors and windows that are made of steel profiles or panels, wood or wood composite materials, aluminum alloy building profiles, etc., and have functions such as insulation, heat insulation, sound insulation, waterproofing, and fire prevention.
Although European door and window curtain wall products have excellent quality, their prices are relatively high. In contrast, the door, window and curtain wall products of China and Türkiye are obviously competitive in price. At the same time, the products of China and Türkiye are equal in quality, so they always meet in a narrow way in both Southeast Asia and Russia. Due to its spanning across the Eurasian continent, Russia's economy is clearly divided between the East and the West, and there is a significant wealth gap. Some even compare the economic development gap between the East and the West to that of Latin America and Europe. In the economically developed western region, Türkiye's products, especially those with high transportation costs, such as deep processing equipment for doors, windows and curtain walls, are more popular. In addition to Türkiye's geographical advantages, the deep-seated cultural factors are also one of the important reasons. Of course, with the improvement of manufacturing capabilities of Chinese enterprises, many products have already reached European standards, such as some woolen tops, hardware accessories, and other products, which are gradually being accepted by the Russian market. In addition, the Russian Far East region, as it belongs to a relatively backward economic region in China, many materials need to be imported from neighboring countries. In recent years, distributors and construction companies in this region often form groups to purchase from China.
The development of residential doors and windows will move towards high-quality, high-end, and low energy consumption. Special emphasis should be placed on the requirements of thermal insulation, energy conservation, and shading for doors and windows, as well as their aesthetics and strength. Lightweight doors and windows should be developed, new varieties of doors and windows should be added, and the application of external bay windows should be minimized as much as possible.
